Reese’s Layered Cupcake

Hey Y’all!

So this cupcake is a spin-off of the much-loved chocolate and peanut butter combination. We actually found this recipe on the Pillsbury website and decided to try it! We will say right now that there are no actual Reese’s cups involved, but anyone who loves these will be sure to want some more. It’s a layered cupcake with chocolate and peanut butter.

Because it is a layered cake, we have to make two separate batters. The first is basically just a chocolate cake batter.

The second is a combination of cream cheese and peanut butter. We decided to use natural Jif for ours, but any peanut butter will do.

So after you make your two batters, you will start to layer them into your liners. So we started by adding a level tablespoon of the chocolate batter. Then a level tablespoon of the peanut butter batter. Then chocolate. Then peanut butter again. Making 18 cupcakes, we ended up having having the perfect amount of batter for these four layers.

Before putting them in the oven, sprinkle them with about 4 or 5 of the two types of chips (chocolate and peanut butter). The recipe said to bake them for 25-30 minutes, but with our oven it ended up being only about 22 minutes; just be careful to watch them.

They ended up looking great! We loved the layered look on the inside and thought they tasted amazing! We’ll definitely be trying these again!

Thanks for reading!
